The North Fort Myers Community Trees have arrived

The trees will be planted next week at the North Fort Myers Recreation Center and will be able to start growing prior to the Community Christmas event. The trees are from the Myakka Tree Farm and are Southern Red Cedar Trees. The community trees will be able to withstand the Florida elements and will be used through out the year for various events and celebrations.

The trees when fully matured are expected to range in height up to12 feet.

One tree will be planted in front of the NFM Recreation Center’s main entrance. The other tree will be designated as the official North Fort Myers Community Tree, and will be located on the west side of the Recreation Center next to the Bandshell area. This one will be the tree that will be officially lit on December 15th at 6pm to celebrate the Christmas season in North Fort Myers. Click here for details on the community Christmas celebration.

These trees were donated to the North Fort Myers Coalition by Lee County, courtesy of Commissioner Pendergrass…so thank you, Mr. Pendergrass!
