Historical North Fort Myers

Before 1900, a small community of less than 50 people lived north of Fort Myers. During these early days, the community was known by other names such as Cabana City, Samville, and Bayshore that still have let a footprint in the community.

During the 20th century, the the community grew and new businesses were established. While many were stores and services for locals, many were the motels on US 41 and restaurants to serve travelers and tourists.

In the past few years, North Fort Myers has undergone considerable growth. For those who have been in the here for a long time, do you remember these historic images of North Fort Myers?
